RoboCup is an international academic and educational initiative with the goal to advance the state of the art of intelligent robots. It aims to foster AI and intelligent robotics research by providing standard problems where a wide range of technologies can be integrated and examined, as well as being used for integrated project-oriented education.
The RoboCup China Open 2012 is an international event to promote RoboCup research, education and competition in China. It will be held in University of Science and Technology of China(USTC), Hefei, Anhui Province on December 15-16.
USTC was established in Beijing in September, 1958 under the presidential leadership of Guo Moruo. The establishment was hailed as "a major event in the history of Chinese science and education".In the early 1970s, the University was moved to Hefei, the capital city of Anhui province, and commenced its second stage of development.
